No Injuries in Cruise Ship Collision | July 28, 2008
Two cruise ships with hundreds of passengers collided Monday in Greece's main port of Piraeus.
The incident caused damage to both ships but no injuries, Greek officials reported. The Zenith, arriving to port from Venice, Italy, was attempting to tie up in port when it collided with the Aegean pearl, bearing the Greek flag, on its way to Turkey.
The passengers were not evacuated to shore, as authorities ruled that there was no danger. However, the ships will not be allowed to sail until deemed sea-worthy upon further investigation.
